First of all, your software is probably one of the best management and collaboration apps out there. Good on you for making the Google Chrome extension.
What I think is necessary is a better way of tracking time.
To start with, it would be great to have the time tracking ability within the Chrome extension.
Secondly, it would be great if you could extend your functionality of time tracking to accomodate for Start-Pause(break)-Stop type of function + reminder for when you forget to switch the timer off.
This may imply that time tracking would have to "highlight" an active task. If that means adding functionality of a "highlighted task" or "task in focus" - that would further emphasise the task that one is currently working on. So if I am working on "Task 1" right now - it will be "in focus" - and time tracking would be current on it. Otherwise, at this stage I have to use external time tracking tools and then go back to Redbooth in order to indicate how much time I spent on the task.
This could go as far as type of message board that would indicate to other members/managers who is working on which task... It could be like an alert saying "Nick has just started working on 'Task1' "
This will for sure put your app on another level in terms of being useful for great time tracking and managing the team/tasks. Otherwise apps like MeisterTasks or Mavenlink or Asana+Everhour will be in front in this category.
Currently the only way to view total hours per task list is adding them up manually in the Time Tracking Reports - not ideal.
It would be great to have hours logged at the top of each task list - or at least an option in the Time Tracking Reports to view by Task List.
As well as this to see hours logged per task would be very handy when billing out work for that task.
It seems that all this information is already available but it is about placing it elsewhere on the system.
We want to track the cost for our projects
In each task, you can add the time spent with some notes and it is very easy to handle.
Another factor is to track the money spend on a project.
You have to pay vendors for tooling, samples, travel expense and other cost.
It would be great, if we can add the cost in the same area like we do the time spent and add it to the download report.
I knew there is a function/connection with “Harvest app” and other available, but cost a lot of money and it is an additional webpage.
It would be extremely useful if you will add an option to export time tracking report divided by tags.
We would like to add tag tasks with our services names in order to understand how many hours we spent on each service each month. Since we use separate work spaces for each client, this is the only additional way we could think about for dividing tasks by service field (tags).
In the meanwhile, if someone have temporary solution for that, it will be much appreciated.
One relatively simple feature that is missing from RB is project budgets.
Redbooth allows us to log time on tasks and now the Gantt shows project timelines, a fundamental missing is the ability to enter a project-wide budget of hours/minutes (e.g 100h) so as time is posted on the project, there is a visible burn-down chart of the budget remaining.
As an MVP we don't need staff cost-rates, profits, money, quotes, material costs or invoicing, we just need a simple visual in each project of hours available vs hours spent. Of course this could become more sophisticated overtime but as a basic MVP this would be a killer feature that would keep us on Redbooth.
It would be great to receive a notification about tasks that i open and one of my team member is late to do it.
I open every day dozens of tasks with due dates - NOT always my team is able to complete the tasks at the time i gave them.
right now - they keep it with the original due date.
In order to understand the status of each one of them - i need to create separate report for each one of them.
The idea is a tool for managers to help us track all the tasks that our employees didn't complete.
