Task dependencies

Sometimes you have a task that requires another one to be completed before it can start. It would be great to be able to see those dependencies in Redbooth.

Hi,

We're delighted to let you know that we have added start dates to our tasks. You can find out more about it here: Announcing Timeline view with Gantt charts

Also would be slick if you could preset Task dependencies in Task list templates!

Task dependencies would be awesome. You could also incorporate subtasks into dependencies if subtasks could be assigned to other people. i.e. The first subtask assigned to person a also assigns the main task to person a, when person a checks off their subtasks the main task updates to be assigned to person b (the next person who has been assigned a subtask).

I hope that makes sense.

This is something that we could make great use of. Tasks generally have a cascade affect. When this is complete then you do that. It would be really useful if you could set those cascades when you assign due dates. Task B usually takes about two weeks to complete but can not start until Task A is finished. When Task A is complete then a due date on Task B is automatically assigned a due date for two week out so it starts showing up in the tasks due for the person it is assigned to.

Great job on the first iteration of dependencies! We really appreciate your work on this and like the usefulness of the feature!

I have started a wishlist of improved / tweaked functionality for the next iteration of dependencies over here as I thought it would be more appropriate in a new issue.

Thanks again!

Curious to know if Task Dependancies are a consideration. I see that Start and End dates for Task lists have heppened... (GREAT) but... the other thing about this was task dependancy.
