Display a kanban board across all workstreams

I work with a distributed development team and scheduling tasks as a 'push' activity is proving to be cumbersome. I would like to implement a 'pull' activity culture in my team where I can have one pool of 'to-do' tasks, and if a developer has completed a task they can go to the global 'to-do' pool and pick a task from the pool of tasks, assign their name to it and continue with the work. Once completed, they can move the task to a 'Test' tasklist etc.

I would like to be able to setup a Kanban board view of all my workspaces allowing me to see all task in either a 'To do, Development, Testing, Waiting deployment' status.

Direct Messages (Button Functionality)

Christopher Mahurin 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Chat • updated 2 years ago 1

It is not readily apparent that clicking the Heading of "Direct Messages", You typically see some indication of direction/function. (Not a big deal, I get it, if I opened it...then I must know how to close it.)

The issue that bugs me is when I click Direct Message, then the clickable Header moves; I need to adjust the mouse positioning on my tiny screen (Not a problem across all people), it would be easier for the button to remain in the same location, it opens from the bottom, and after a quick look, I can easily close it again, either that or maybe it could close after "X" number of seconds/minutes, etc.

Optional hiding workspace columns

We would like to hide our 'Ice Box' column. Its content is just relevant once in a week. The rest of the week it irritates seeing its tasks.

Workspace conversations are a little useless

Sarah Hokuf 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Conversations • updated by anonymous 2 years ago 4

The Project managers mostly work from dashboard, replying to comments. But when someone writes a message in Workspace right-hand conversation bar, no one is notified UNLESS you are in that workspace.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the feedback. When using a workspace chat, the recipients of a message will only be those that are in the work space. You can use @all to send a notification to everyone in that workspace, even if they are not currently physically in it. Otherwise, this is currently working the way it was intended to.

Linear task view

Most of our projects work in a fairly linear fashion and it would be nice to set up task lists to reflect that. Mainly, when the first task list is completed it would be minimized and the next task list would move to the first position. Also, it would be useful to be able to mount more than one task list in a position to illustrate that they both need to be happening at the same time and both need to be completed in order to move on to the next stage:

Create a Shortcut for Switching 1. Projects 2. Organizations. - This is a Key feature of slack...

Create a Shortcut for Switching 1. Projects 2. Organizations. - This is a Key feature of slack...

Ctrl + K = Search Projects (Enter to Select)

Ctrl + 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 = Switch between organizations.

I know multiple people who have more than 1 team on slack and these features make it possible. I'd imagine it would encourage growth for redbooth too.

Add a notification in the Dashboard Notifications when I assign a task to myself

I use the Dashboard Notifications as a todo list for myself.

So every day I check what has changed, discard simple messages on tasks that are not destined to myself, and then what remains is my tasks for the day.

I feel it works great because as soon as something gets updated I get to see it.

But the thing is it only works when someone else is doing something in a task. If I switch a task to myself I won't see it in the Dashboard Notifications.

I think the simplest fix for me would be just this : If I assign a task to myself, display it in the Dashboard Notifications

Tasks not moving

Central Services nectere 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Tasks • updated by anonymous 2 years ago 1

As you can see from this image, I have changed the date on this task but it is still showing as a task for today.

This has been an issue experienced by a few of my collegues.

display created date/creator of tasks in task list

sometimes tasks end up with very similar names and when due dates get bumped the two tasks can be very difficult to distinguish from each other without actually opening them and comparing them side by side (just kidding no way to compare tasks side by side in redbooth). also, after a 'Copy and assign task...' menu function two tasks will look identical in the task list until the copied task's name is edited to differentiate it from the original. in our case this has caused users to accidentally edit the original task instead of the copy as intended.

this info could be in a small light font much like the 'Show x completed tasks' at the end of each task list and placed under the due date.
