Order timeline view in the asem order as tasks lists

Jeff Cox 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline • updated by Irwin Kwan 2 years ago 1

In the time line view it appears that the task lists are ordered by Alpha and not the order they are in task view. I would suggest they would order by default in th same order they are on task list view or allow you to drop and drag the order.

Hi Jeff,

In Timeline view, tasklists are ordered automatically by start date, which follows the Gantt chart convention. You can find out more about it in our help center: https://redbooth.com/help/tasks-in-timeline-gantt/

Timeline feedback

Sergio S. 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline 0

Hi,

I´ve been working with timeline for a few weeks by now and I´ve found some weak points I would like to share with you.

The first one refers to the task list in the left panel in the timeline view. In this panel, task names get so compressed that it is impossible to read them. It would be better to re-sizes this space or at least generate an option to read the names completely (for example, when the mouse passes over the name, a window could appear showing the entire name of the task). See Picture 1

The second suggestion is related to tasks with dependencies (child and parents tasks). It would be interesting that when dependent tasks are modified in its date, all the related tasks suffer the same modification. For example, if the first task is move ahead 5 days, the child tasks gets modify in the same way. At this moment, when this modification takes place, the bond between tasks is broken. Picture 2

Thanks in advanced,

Best regards,

Sergio.

Filter for Time Line View (gantt chart) same as Task View

Design07 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline 0

It would be great to see only current tasks, or tasks in the next 2 weeks etc, much cleaner for visualising tasks as you can then condense the list to the essentials.

Add filter to timeline, so I can see the timeline of an individual member

I would like to see the timeline of a member o user. Is like seeing the Gantt graph of a user.

Task Description within timeline view

pattib 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline 0

It would be extremely helpful with the timeline view chart to have the task name on the timeline image as well as the duration. If our team could look at the timeline view and see the task right within the duration bar, it would be fantastic - especially for large complicated projects.

Timeline - Manually Adjusting the Task Completed Date

Erin F. 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline 0

In the timeline view, requesting the option to manually adjust the completed date to give a more correct view of the project tasks' completion.

We are importing our current projects and their associated tasks/timelines, some of which have phases and tasks that are already completed. When I mark the timelines as completed on the day of/current day it shows the lag between the day it should be marked as completed (i.e. a task was completed on 6/30 and we're entering the dates at a later time to have a full view of the project). It would ideal to have a way to manually adjust the completed date in the 'edit' options to give a more correct view of the project tasks' completion.

Display List Duration Range on Timeline (like task ranges)

Andrej 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline 0

This worked with your first timeline .. now I didn't managed to replicate it.

- You can set dates for Lists, but you cannot see this on the timeline.

- You could use this as a way to organize tasks in timeline like Milestones.

- How much time is reserved for a entire list / milestone / group of tasks matters more than actual duration of the tasks

do not limit timeview to one year

kleinv 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Timeline 0

The 1 year view limitation in Gantt is not working for me. Would be good to be able to extend that view, possibly also by zooming a bit more (2 months?)
