WASTEFUL! Why Does Redbooth Force the Task Creator to Follow Tasks (Even if I Unfollow the Task)

Matthew Miller 2 weeks ago in Feature Requests • updated by Ryan Crosbie 6 days ago 8

In short.

As the overarching admin and 'boss'. I am getting WAY TOO MANY notifications. Since I am the master architect of my business. I create all the templates and tasks that are to be duplicated for new clients and projects. The only problem is... REDBOOTH assumes it knows better than me and auto assigns me to follow every single task and won't allow me to unfollow. EVER. Even if I manually unfollow myself it automatically assumes I need to remain a follower and puts me back on that task.

I'm trying to be as clear as possible. To illustrate this issue... i have made a video which I submitted to the wonderful support team already at Redbooth who advised me to make a post here in the feedback forum.

I NEED VOTES! HELP US ADMINS SAVE TIME. UPVOTE THIS TASK.

Hi Matthew,

Can I start by asking about your auto-follow notification settings? What is your selection in your account?

Ryan

I should have showed that in the video.

I have played with all of them. I currently have it set on the top one. But, I have also tried manually deselecting everything on the bottom one also. This issue I present in the video still persists.

Hi Matthew,

When you created the video, what were your settings?  Now that you have deselected auto-follow can you try again with a NEW task, created after the setting update?

The expected behavior is that you wouldn't be added back to the task notifications if your auto-follow is off. The auto-follow is not retroactive, either.  So even after you make the change, it shouldn't update the existing tasks.

Thanks, Matthew.  We are taking a look as well.

Best,

Ryan

Appears to be fixed. Can't re create the problem. But, if it persists. I will bring it up again.

Ah that's great!  Yes, please do.   Thanks for reaching out with the detailed video.

Hi Matthew, any updates here? Hope it's working as expected now.
