Ability to rearrange subtasks in a Template Task

roseanne 2 years ago in Feature Requests / Task List Templates • updated by Ryan Crosbie 1 week ago 8 1 duplicate

When creating a Template Task, or when improving upon a Template Task, have the ability to drag and drop the subtasks in the desired order, in the same way that we're able to do in a task that is in a Workspace.

Hi Roseanne,

Have you tried our Copy Project feature for your needs? https://redbooth.com/help/copy-a-workspace/

Hello Irwin,

Your reply is totally off base.

Please re-read my request more carefully: "When creating a Template Task, or when improving upon a Template Task, have the ability to drag and drop the subtasks into the desired order, in the same way that we're able to do in a task that is in a Workspace. (in other words, rearrange the sub-tasks while in TEMPLATES. NOT when in a Workspace).

Thank you,

Roseanne

This task is not completed. Roseanne has a very strong suggestion and would save us a lot of time. Watch my 60 second video. I would suggest re opening this task. Otherwise I will have to make a new one.

I made a 60 second video.

Thank you for the feedback! We have updated the status of this idea.

Any movement on this?

Hey Guys,

Task list templates are really hampered by not having this feature. It is very time consuming to create a task list template with multiple subtasks which walks someone through the process. It is really really time consuming to re-order those subtasks in a template if the process changes. Also is highly annoying :).

Thanks!

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the comments here.  We totally understand how this process could be easier, especially because the drag and drop subtasks feature lives elsewhere in Redbooth.

This is a bit harder than it looks from the outside, so we cannot complete it very easily.  That said, there are other template based features that we plan to work on later this year and I will make sure to include this one with the others.
